from the fifth season of "Elite"

The golden boys of prestigious Las Encinas High School celebrate with loud music and neon decorations in a teaser for the fifth season of the Elite series. Netflix has finally revealed the premiere date for the new series: season five will debut on the streaming service on April 8. With less than a month to go, it's time to review the events of previous episodes and start speculating about what's in store for the new installment of the irrepressible Spanish teens' story.

To recap: the first season of Elite debuted on Netflix in the fall of 2018. The multi-episode story begins when three students from a middle school destroyed by an earthquake are given the opportunity to continue their education at the elite Las Encinas institution. A young girl from a Muslim family named Nadia (Mina El Hammani), the intelligent but modest Samuel (Itzan Escamilla) and the intrepid adventurer Christian (Miguel Herrán) are sent on a direct flight into the world of children of wealthy parents. For ordinary teenagers, learning among the golden youth will be a challenge. But people can adapt to anything, and the protagonists, and with them the audience, are quickly drawn into the abyss of high school romances, parties and bickering.

The fact that the series will have a fifth season was known even before the start of the fourth season: the project was a huge hit with viewers, so much so that Netflix renewed it for two seasons. "Elite", created and written by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona, is considered one of the best and most commercial series produced in Spain on the streaming platform.

Not much is known about the plot of the new season, but fans of the series are already making some assumptions. The fourth season ended with a murder, and this high-profile event will obviously have a development in the new series. We won't reveal who was involved, but since rumors travel fast at Las Encinas High School, the incident will soon be known to all students. In addition, we may learn more about Prince Philip in the new season.

The fifth season of Elita will also have new faces. Thus, the Argentine actress Valentina Zenere, known for the series "Chicas del Teléfono" and "Yo soy la Luna", the Brazilian actor André Lamolla ("Traidor"), as well as the French actor Adam Nuru ("Adu") have joined the cast of the project. As a reminder, Andrés Velencoso, Manu Ríos, Carla Dias, Martina Cariddi, Paul Granz and Diego Martín joined the project in the fourth season.
